The Technological Institute of Energy (ITE), the coordinating center of the HySGrid + consortium, is an International Technology Research Center, created by business initiative and promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana through IVACE (Corporate Competitiveness Valencian Institute) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). ITE directs its projects and services to companies and public bodies belonging to the energy sector in its different areas: Smart Grids, Energy Storage Systems, Distributed Renewable Energies, Industry Efficiency, Circular Economy, Green Building, Electric Vehicles, Smart Metering, etc.
ITE’s mission is to actively contribute to the development of companies, promoting and facilitating innovation and technological development, providing solutions through the incorporation of technology, from the realization of R + D + i projects and services, tests, services certification, technological advice, training and technological diffusion. In this regard, ITE has been collaborating with companies for more than 25 years to make them more competitive, supporting them in the innovation of processes and products, promoting their modernization and diversification, thus seeking the best ways to position themselves internationally.
From the beginning, ITE has been a founding member of REDIT (Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community) and a member of FEDIT (Spanish Federation of Technology Centers). Likewise, ITE is a member of more than 50 energy platforms such as ETIP SNET or Batteries Europe together with companies, research centers, public organizations and civil society.
Up to 2020, ITE has participated in 33 active public R & D & I projects, 4 of them at European level, as well as in 18 active private projects.
